General

How much does it cost to transport a car in the UK?
The cost depends on the distance, the vehicle type and whether it is driven or transported. Send us your collection and delivery postcodes, date and number of vehicles and we will reply fast with a competitive, fixed-price quote.
Do you cover my area?
We collect and deliver across mainland UK from our central Leicestershire base on the motorway network, so we can be where you need us.
Are vehicles insured in transit?
Yes. Every movement is covered in transit, with tax and insurance covered on driven movements. We are a member of the BVRLA.
How quickly can you collect?
We work to your timeframe and aim to collect quickly. One recent job was collected from Colchester and delivered to Birmingham within 4 hours of payment. Call the office for current availability.
Do you provide proof of delivery?
Yes. Our Autocheck system generates an instant, real-time proof of delivery with photos, emailed to you on delivery.

Driven

What is a trade plate driver?
A trade plate driver is a professional driver who collects and delivers vehicles on trade plates on behalf of dealers, fleets and private customers. At MDM our trade-plate drivers move cars and vans nationwide, fully insured, with an electronic appraisal at each end.
Does my vehicle need an MOT to be driven?
Yes. To be legally driven on UK roads a vehicle must be roadworthy and hold a current MOT. If it is not roadworthy we can move it on a transporter instead.
Do you deliver across the whole UK?
Yes. We collect and deliver cars and vans across mainland UK from our central Midlands base on the motorway network.

Transported

How much does it cost to transport a car in the UK?
The cost depends on the distance, the vehicle type and whether it is driven or transported. Send us your collection and delivery postcodes and date and we will reply fast with a competitive, fixed-price quote.
Can you transport a non-runner?
Yes. We collect and deliver non-runners and vehicles without an MOT on a transporter. Let us know on booking if a winch or skid plates are needed.
Do you offer covered or enclosed transport for prestige cars?
Yes. We offer covered transport options for premium, prestige and classic vehicles that need extra protection.

Condition Report

What is a vehicle condition report?
A condition report is a digital appraisal completed by the driver, capturing photos of the vehicle at collection and delivery so its condition is documented and never in dispute.
Do you photograph the vehicle?
Yes. Every movement is photographed at collection and delivery, with an instant delivery report sent on handover.

Prep Centre & PDI

What is a PDI (pre-delivery inspection)?
A PDI is a pre-delivery inspection and preparation process that gets a vehicle retail-ready: valeting, road-safety checks, and arranging MOT, servicing or repairs where needed.
Do you valet vehicles?
Yes. We valet on arrival and carry out road-safety checks as part of our prep centre service, and can arrange any repairs needed.

Storage & Refurbishment

Where is your vehicle storage located?
Our secure, gated storage compound is in Leicestershire, central to the UK motorway network, with some undercover space and short or long-term options.
Do you offer SMART repairs?
Yes. Through our trusted bodyshop partner we offer SMART repairs including paintless dent repair, scratch and stone-chip removal, bumpers, alloys and glass, plus servicing, tyres and MOTs.

Electric Vehicles

Can you transport electric vehicles?
Yes. We have moved electric vehicles since 2017. We can drive or transport EVs, charge on route, and deliver with an agreed percentage of charge.
Will my EV arrive with charge?
We can charge the vehicle near the delivery point so the customer has enough range for their first journey, at an agreed rate.

Enclosed Transport

What is enclosed car transport?
Enclosed (covered) car transport moves your vehicle protected from the weather and the road, rather than driven or carried in the open. It is the safest option for prestige, performance, classic and high-value cars.
Is enclosed transport more expensive than open transport?
Covered transport typically costs more than an open or driven movement because of the extra protection and handling involved. Send us your collection and delivery postcodes for a competitive, fixed-price quote.
Can you move a low supercar or a non-runner under cover?
Yes. Covered transport suits low-clearance and non-running vehicles. Let us know on booking if low-loading, a winch or skid plates are needed.

Classic Car Transport

Do you transport classic and vintage cars?
Yes. We regularly move classic, vintage and cherished cars across the UK, including restoration projects and non-runners, with covered transport where the value or weather calls for it.
Can you move a classic that does not run?
Yes. We collect and deliver non-running and project classics on a transporter. Let us know on booking if a winch or skid plates are needed.
Will my classic be protected from the weather?
We offer covered transport for classic cars so paintwork and brightwork are protected from rain, salt and road debris for the journey.

Van & LCV Delivery

Do you deliver vans as well as cars?
Yes. We collect and deliver vans and light commercial vehicles across the UK, from single movements to whole-fleet transitions, driven or transported.
Can you move a fleet of vans?
Yes. We handle scheduled, bulk van movements and fleet transitions with key-for-key swaps and a dedicated point of contact, including the recent transition of a hybrid van fleet for an engineering client.
Are non-running vans a problem?
No. We move non-running vans on a transporter. Let us know on booking if a winch or skid plates are needed.
