The founder of MDM Vehicle Deliveries in Hinckley, Mr J F Parratt, purchased the now retro Rover Vitesse SD1 V8 in June 1984 from Trinity Motors of Hinckley. It was used for business and family over many years and was last taxed and used in 1997.
After Standing in a garage for a number of years, it was finally taken to be renovated around 2010, but upon examination it was thought to be impractical due to rust on the floor etc.
After consideration Mr Parratt began looking for a new body shell but unfortunately could not find one anywhere so he decided to purchase a kit from Rimmer Brothers which included most of the panels to build from scratch, floor up and weld together. The work was carried out by Allied Automotive of Barwell who also painted the vehicle to their usual high standard.
Allied Automotive took everything off the old shell and renovated the parts which they built on to the new shell.
The engine running gear and most of the components were re-built and put onto the road in June 2022.
